Flowerjade Hook Pounamu Pendant (Translucent NZ Jade)
Double-sided 72mm long by 40mm wide by 7mm thick New Zealand Jade (Pounamu / Greenstone) pendant, hand-carved, bound with adjustable black cord. The rare flowerjade pounamu comes from Marsden area, from the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. The piece has a unique yellowish to greensih transition colour. One photo was taken with backlight - showing the translucency of the stone.
Hybrid design, blending the form of a fish-hook with the spirals of a sea snail. This piece is meant to create a connection between culture, the ocean, and the mystical wonders beneath its surface.
In my interpretation, the hei matau / fish hook represents strength, prosperity, fertility, good luck and safe travel over water. The wearer of the hook is seen as a provider and protector who is strong-willed and determined to succeed in life. It is now worn as a symbol of power, authority, good health and abundance. The koru / spiral symbolises new beginning, personal growth and creativity.
Free tracked economy postage is included to any NZ address, international shipping is a plus (can be added at checkout).
Price is in NZD. AfterPay is available within New Zealand. Alternative payment method: the piece can be reserved with a deposit and the rest can be paid by instalments (time payments) - please email for details.
